I am a glass artist, I work with glass because I love the depth of colour, the interaction of the light – and the surprise every time I open the kiln.

 

I was hooked on glass after I went on a weekend course for basic fusing, I bought my own kiln and since then I have been experimenting with different techniques producing some stunning, vibrant pieces – along with disasters. No two items will ever be the same, I take inspiration from nature, often using simple organic shapes rather than straight lines when making decorative and practical items.

 

Increasingly I am using photography to inspire my art. I particularly love seascapes and flowers and my photographs often reflect my love of colour and light as I start to explore the world through a viewfinder.
